One of my favorite opportunities to share with another creative is with Private Instruction. Away from the distracting interactions in a group class, individual sessions allow us to focus more specifically. Typically, I meet with a potential student and we discuss what exactly is presenting a challenge or a new technique to address. Then, I work up a class agenda and bring the ideas to my student, making certain that we are both on the same page and comfortable with the direction. During our private meeting, usually a 2 hour session, we both work on painting the same image, with time for questions and feedback. And usually mixed in is some humor and laughter too.
I love having previous students drop by my Ashland Art Center Studio to show off or get valued perspective on their new works. Some of my private students have turned into dear friends or peer artists ~ that seems to happen when working honestly together.
I invite you to inquire if you’re at all interested. I’d love to help along your creative path!
