FABULOUS Repeat Performance by our Chef Izzy Leas

Can you believe it? We are actually being blessed with the charming , wise and incredibly talented encore appearance of our Chef Izzy at the 2012 Women’s Journaling Alpine Retreat!!!

It was touch ‘n go for awhile – when I’d inquired if she was going to be able to fulfill her promise of returning the following year to delightful us. She was “way too busy and needed the income” she said. I began searching for previous applicants for the Culinary Coordinator to approach – then – one day my phone rings and … YES, IZZY can come back!!!

To tout her amazing credientals:

Born in Hawaii, then later moving to Arizona, our Chef was reared amongst the best and brightest chefs. Her first romance in the kitchen was with baking and its precise art and skills. Soon she became dedicated to the craft, the finesse, and the science behind the culinary industry. Elizabeth says, “In order to achieve excellence, I knew I couldn’t go anywhere but west: The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Saint Helena, California.

She now marries this brilliant educational experience with 1) the ability to create something which brings a sense of contentment and joy and 2) the use of beautiful and wholesome foods to awaken the senses and nourish.

And we know how “wow-ed” we all were with her creative talents. Not only was the food delicious, but so healthy and diverse too. Honestly, I lost 2 pounds having eaten three full lusty meals a day from Izzy. And the sheer pleasure of her youthful, mature and loving person ~ just another miracle coming up for this year’s retreat!!

Currently Ms. Leas creates for private clients and multiple wineries in the valley and works at Rubicon Estate, a Francis Ford Coppola winery.
